A Note from our Principal

As I enter my 5th year as Middle and High School Principal of Aurora Christian Schools, I continue to thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to serve this incredible school community. As a parent of three boys who attend ACS, I am grateful for the contributions that our school has made in my family, and I am fully invested in seeing our school continue to grow, flourish, and fulfill the mission God has placed before us.

As we begin a new school year, I am excited about the initiatives we are implementing to accomplish the goals outlined in our strategic plan. One of these initiatives is the introduction of Academic Pathways, which will provide our high school students with opportunities to pursue excellence in curricular areas that align with their interests and future goals. We are also continuing to strengthen our STEM programming by expanding opportunities for both middle school and high school students to learn and grow in the field of Robotics.

At ACS, we remain committed to fostering a learning environment characterized by high expectations and academic excellence. Our students consistently perform well on Advanced Placement (AP) exams and standardized assessments, reflecting the dedication of both our students and our faculty.

One of the qualities that truly sets ACS apart is the way we prioritize relationships within our school community. Our staff members are deeply committed to knowing their students and supporting them academically, spiritually, and personally. We also intentionally create opportunities for students to mentor and encourage one another, including younger students, throughout the building.

Another distinguishing characteristic of ACS is our strong emphasis on service. In a typical year, our students devote an average of 40 hours of service beyond what is required for school, demonstrating a genuine desire to live out their faith through meaningful acts of compassion and leadership.

I am looking forward to another wonderful year filled with impactful relationships, high-quality education, and dedicated service. God is doing amazing things in our school community, and I am grateful to be a part of it. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to help our students grow into all that God has called them to be.
Let us continue to partner together in this important work. Let’s make this our best year yet!

Dr. Natalie Henderson
Middle and High School Principal

FAQs

Where can I find my student’s class schedule?

Student schedules are available in FACTS (formerly RenWeb). If you have questions about scheduling, reach out to our Academic Director, Mrs. Holly Henning.

What is the dress code for high school students?

The dress code is outlined in the Parent & Student Handbook, which can be found on the ACS website under the “Resources” tab. Please review it with your student to ensure they are dressed appropriately and in alignment with the school’s Christ-centered values.

How does my student get a locker or parking pass?

Students can select their locker and request a parking pass during the annual Block Party event. If you’re unable to attend, these items can be picked up at the Main Office prior to the first day of school.

What electives are offered to high school students?

ACS provides a growing list of elective courses, including options in fine arts, technology, physical education, and life skills. We’re continually expanding offerings to meet students’ interests and strengths.

What sports and extracurricular opportunities are available?

ACS has a variety of extracurriculars for high school students, including athletics, clubs, and fine arts programs. Visit the “Athletics” and “Fine Arts” pages on the website for more information and contacts.

What if my student is struggling in a class?

We encourage students to speak with their teachers first. However, our staff is committed to supporting academic success and offers individualized help when needed. Don’t hesitate to contact the school for additional resources.

What is chapel, and how often does it occur?

Chapel is held weekly and is a highlight of the ACS experience. It includes worship, teaching, and opportunities for spiritual growth. It’s an important time for students to grow in their faith and connect with one another.

What should I do if my child will be absent from school?

Please contact the school office by phone or email to report the absence. Your student will be responsible for checking with teachers to make up any missed assignments or classwork. If there will be an extended absence, please contact the principal.

What are the school day hours for middle and high school students?

The regular school day runs from 7:45 AM to 2:50 PM unless otherwise noted. Check the school calendar and communications for any special scheduling. Students may enter the building as early as 7:00 AM. Extended Supervision is offered from 3:15 PM - 6:00 PM for a fee.

How can I stay up to date with what’s happening at school?

Stay informed by checking your email regularly, logging into FACTS, and visiting the ACS website. Make sure your contact information is current so you don’t miss important announcements.
