Mrs. Karla Medrano grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to the Chicago area for college and graduated with degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Physics & French from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Elmhurst University. After graduating, she worked as a systems engineer in downtown Chicago designing piping systems for power plants. She married her husband, Charles, and decided to leave the work-force to raise a family full-time. Mrs. Medrano homeschooled her three children for 11 years before they all came to ACS. In her first three years here, she taught several different high school math classes, Sophomore Physical Science, and some middle school electives: Global Adventures and a Robotics exploration class. She is excited to continue teaching into her fourth year at ACS. In her spare time, Mrs. Medrano enjoys creating music and trying new recipes in the kitchen. She and her family attend Redeemer Community Church in Aurora.
