FAQ's

What should we expect at this event?

Great question! Light the Way will be an incredible night celebrating ACS! Current families, supporters, staff and alumni will gather together for a high-energy night to celebrate with dinner, a dry bar, classic party games (shuffleboard, bags on the patio, giant jenga, etc.), and auctions both live and silent, all in support of our incredible school community. There will also be a guest speaker, live music, and prizes to win. All of this is coming together to support ACS and  to light the way for future generations of eagles.

Who is our Light the Way Emcee?

Ryan Worsley will be the emcee for our event. Ryan Worsley and his wife, Kristin, have four kids attending ACS — Myles (8th), Ryder (6th), Adleigh (5th) and Ava (3rd). Kristin teaches full-time in PK3. Ryan began his career as a construction attorney in Atlanta before working in church operations for 11 years — at Cornerstone Church in Athens, GA and The Compass Church in Naperville. Today, Ryan works as claims counsel for Architects and Engineers with a worldwide insurance carrier in their Chicago office.

I don’t have a table of 8 to sit with. What should I do?

Feel free to buy a single ticket, or purchase a group of any size. Our team will thoughtfully seat our guests so that everyone will have a great group experience. Think sitting with families from your student’s class, other athlete parents, folks from your town, etc. We promise it won’t be random or awkward.

What is the attire for this event?

This is a Saturday night out celebrating something special - ACS! Guests are encouraged to wear smart casual attire and to look sharp. This isn’t the night for hoodies or tuxedos.

Is this actually a fundraiser? What are the funds going towards?

Yes! The ACS Annual Benefit Dinner is our annual schoolwide fundraising event. This event is a chance for ACS friends and families to come together for a fun night celebrating all of God’s faithfulness over the years at ACS and to look to the future at ACS. Collectively as we celebrate ACS, we have the opportunity to contribute financially to The Eagles Fund, our Annual Fund, that supports efforts to enhance the eagle experience here at ACS. This year, The Eagles Fund priorities will be enhancing the aesthetics and functionality of Door 11 (our front porch!), contributing to the ongoing efforts to improve AV technology in shared spaces on campus, and to continue to build out academic pathways in our upper schools. What joy to know we can contribute to our children’s future!

What’s for dinner at the event?

We are excited to offer dinner from Enticing Cuisine, the same caterer that served at our 50th Celebration this fall! There will be appetizers and dinner - variety of meats, vegetables, and sides. Gluten-free options will be available.

I bought my ticket, what else can I do to help?

Love this question! If you are a current family, donate to your child’s grade basket for the auction! We are also looking for auction donations and event sponsors. Click here to learn more about those! If you are looking to volunteer, reach out to Mary Potter at mary.potter@aurorachristian.org

It says there is a dessert auction - what is that?

We will have desserts up for auction at the event - think delish homemade pies, rootbeer floats, Oberweis sundaes, Portillo’s cake, etc.! We will have a silent auction open for you to bid on during the event; and then you’ll be able to enjoy the dessert you won with your table at the event! Fun way to try a new dessert and support ACS!

I have a different question! Who do I contact?

We are here to help!! Please reach out to Mary Potter mary.potter@aurorachristian.org.

Is this a family friendly event or for grown ups?

Book the babysitter! This is night for the adults.
