What inspired you to be a Teacher?
“My inspiration to choose teaching came not so much from a "what" but a "who"...in fact, many "whos." Those people (teachers, mentors, friends, family) who saw in me what I could not see in myself encouraged me to be a teacher: to speak life to students, to integrate the Truth of scripture in every possible situation, to engage those on the fringes, to cheer on the creative, to listen to the outspoken, to illicit whispers from the reticent, to laugh at myself so kids know everyone fails, to share my passion for story and writing, to love and challenge and lead, to make a safe space to absolutely soar as well as to fail miserably, to remind kids that loving deeply is brave and mocking is weakness. Christ calls us ALL to love as He loves us, no matter what vocation he leads us to. Working in Christian education gives me freedom to love Jesus loudly and to point kids to him in all manner of situations.”
Favorite Bible Verse:
