M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
M.A. in Christian Studies - Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
Before coming to Aurora Christian in 2015, I taught English in public schools for seven years. I have also enjoyed working both part-time and full-time over the years as a carpenter for my family's business since I was in high school myself. I particularly love being able to pair that experience with teaching at Mission Impossible each year.

What inspired you to be a Teacher?
“I've always been a curious person, and during my junior and senior years of high school, I fell in love with learning, thinking deeply, and conversing honestly with my teachers and peers, especially in response to good literature. I decided then that I wanted help others do the same. After seven years of such teaching, and in response to some major changes in my own life circumstances, I sensed a call into ministry, and pursued a degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. I thought I was done working in a high school setting at that point, but the Lord had other good plans in mind, as He so often does. In the midst of working on my degree, I was offered the opportunity to teach Bible (the best of all literature!) here at ACS, and have been doing so since. It is both a heavy responsibility and a great privilege to work with students as they learn to read, explore, question, discuss, and respond to God's good word here in this Christ-centered community.”
Favorite Bible Verse:
"You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." 2 Timothy 2:1–2 ESV
