Colleen Gennicks

Colleen Gennicks was raised in central Illinois and brings a strong foundation in Christian education and elementary instruction to Aurora Christian Schools. She earned degrees in Christian Education, Educational Psychology, and Elementary Education from Lincoln Christian University and the University of Illinois Springfield in 2007.
Mrs. Gennicks has taught 1st and 3rd grades, served in K–2 Title I Reading and Math Intervention, and has experience homeschooling. She is married to her husband, Kyle, who serves as the lead pastor of Gospel City Church in Aurora. Colleen is actively involved in their church community, leading children’s ministry, and she and her husband are raising four children who all attend ACS.
What inspired you to be a teacher?
“I always loved school and had great teachers who impacted my life, which inspired me to become a teacher. Teaching and working in Christian Education is important because we're raising up and training the next generation to know and love Jesus and to proclaim the gospel and serve others.”

Hobbies:
Mrs. Gennicks enjoys baking, going for walks, cheering for the Cubs, and spending time with her family.
